The sun was shining on the opening day of The Great Food Festival at Great Park Town Centre, Newcastle Great Park (NE13 9EA) – and it’s clear this three-day event is going to be a highlight of the weekend!
Running from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August (12PM – 6PM daily), the festival brings together a fantastic mix of street food, live music, market traders, fairground rides, kids’ activities, and more – and best of all, entry is completely FREE.
Food & Drink Highlights 🍕🌮🍹
The festival boasts an incredible variety of street food from across the globe, including Goodtimes Tacos, Leo’s Pizza Panini, Redheads Mac n Cheese, Parm-O-Rama, Habibi Shawarma, What the Crust, YumYaba, Chilli Padi, Musafari Grills, Malatang Express, Alla Greek, Chez Dips, and Mimis Ice Cream Factory.
To wash it all down, visitors can grab something refreshing from Bass Notes Coffee, Boozy Pops, Quaff Box, or The Printworks Bar.
Shopping & Market Stalls 🛍️
It’s not just about the food – there’s plenty of shopping to enjoy too. Local traders including C & G Cakes, Sparkle Sisters, Mr Jones Cakes, Tialusso’s Products, Eliza’s Elegance, Hot Wax Newcastle, Prohibition Distillery, and Gosforth Bark are showcasing everything from sweet treats and artisan goods to gifts and homeware.

- Saturday 30th August: Andy Usher (12PM – 1PM), Emma Robson (2PM – 4PM), Jack Cummings (4PM – 6PM)
- Sunday 31st August: Nick Gladdish (12PM – 2PM), Kieran Taylor (2PM – 3PM), James Hughes (3PM – 5PM), Sam Rea (5PM – 6PM)
With talented local artists creating the perfect atmosphere, it’s a great excuse to stay all afternoon.
