Today we took a little trip out to Blagdon Farm Shop at the Milkhope Centre, and what a treat it was! With Christmas just around the corner, we couldn’t think of a better place to shop local, pick up thoughtful gifts, and stock the kitchen with incredible seasonal produce.
The shop itself is just beautiful: warm, welcoming, and filled to the brim with quality local food and gifts. We have to say that the lady at the till was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Every corner is thoughtfully laid out, making you want to slow down and browse. From the butcher counter to the shelves of jams and chutneys, it’s clear that Blagdon is a place where passion for food really shines.
A Glorious Steak Pie (and More!)
Of course, we couldn’t leave empty handed. The highlight of our visit? A glorious steak pie from their in-house kitchen – golden pastry, rich filling, and utterly satisfying. Pies are what Blagdon does best, and they really do live up to their reputation.
Alongside the pies, their cheese counter is heaven for anyone planning a Christmas cheeseboard, while the fudge selection makes a perfect stocking filler (if you can resist eating it yourself first!).
Fresh Veg & Purple Cauliflowers 🌱
Blagdon isn’t just about indulgence – their fresh fruit and vegetables are just as special. We were particularly taken with the vibrant displays, and couldn’t resist snapping a photo of their stunning purple cauliflowers (see gallery below). These little seasonal gems are proof that shopping local can bring colour and excitement to your table as well as unbeatable flavour.
